What is Rooted?

Rooted is a transformative women’s conference designed to help you cultivate a deeper faith and establish an unshakable foundation in God.

As believers, being rooted in Christ not only grounds and guides us but also equips us to stand firm when the world shifts and changes. This year, we will explore spiritual disciplines and spiritual gifts, discovering how they strengthen our walk with God and empower us to grow.

Our Speakers

SONYA AUSTON

Encouragement, joy, and laughter, are characteristics of Sonya’s life and message. With a heart that sees God given purpose in every person, Sonya brings an uplifting presents wherever she goes. If she can see you or hear you, she wants to know you. Why? Because she believes your life holds a beautiful, divine purpose, worth discovering and celebrating. A passionate communicator of God‘s word, Sonya is known for her authentic, “keep it real” teaching style that resonates deeply with women from all walks of life. Her messages don’t just inspire, they move you from good, to great, to God. 


With heartfelt transparency, Sonya shares her own journey, infusing every talk with hope, humor, and healing.

Sonya is a Professional Coach and a certified Level 3 Mental Health Coach. She widely known for walking along side of women through real life challenges resulting transformation. 


When speaking to a crowd or listening one on one, Sonya connects instantly with others through her warmth, empathy and biblical insight. Her wisdom offers practical every day tools grounded in timeless scripture. A fierce encourager and celebrator of perseverance, Sonya delights in watching women rise in adversity and live abundantly in Christ. Being involved in ministry to women for over 35 years, she’s particularly passionate about teaching women to study and apply God‘s word for themselves, challenging them to grow in faith and confidence.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 is Sonya’s constant reminder, that true greatness is found in understanding and knowing the Lord.


When she’s not speaking or mentoring, Sonya finds great joy in discipling her grandchildren and crafting unforgettable retreat adventures for them, and indulging in gourmet cookies dipped in hot cocoa or coffee.

ERIN STACHE

Erin Stache is a homemaker and writer for LifeWay curriculum. She graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010 with her MA in Women's Studies. Since then she has written several Advent devotions and contract writes for various LifeWay preschool and children's curriculum programs. Erin is married to Jeremy Stache and is called "mom" no less than a thousand times by their two sweet and sassy girls, Bayley and Reagan. She enjoys reading, walking, and traveling anywhere that she doesn't have to be in charge of cooking. Erin is passionate about encouraging women in their faith and loving others as Jesus has taught us to do. 

CINDY MCCARLEY

Cindy McCarley is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in trauma, adverse childhood experiences, abuse, and is skilled in motivating, and inspiring others toward a common goal. Her desire is to love others as Jesus loves her and to sprinkle hope wherever she goes.  She has served in private, public and the non-profit sector. 
For thirty years, she served individuals suffering from trauma and abuse.  She currently serves as the Executive Director of Good Shepherd. She has received numerous accolades including National Safe Place Coordinator of the Year and proclaimed the United Way Director of the Year on two separate occasions.  She served on the National Runaway and Homeless Network Advisory Council for year, was appointed to the Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities, acts as the Board President to Micah’s Mission, a local Hybrid School, and serves on the Mississippi Department of Human Services Child Care Payment Program Advisory Board.  Her journey of faith includes two children.  It was those experiences that truly taught her about God’s provision.
When not spending time with her family and friends, she loves to read and share her journey of faith to inspire others to act outside of their comfort zone. 

STACY TENNISON

Stacy Tennison is a Bible teacher and speaker who is passionate about helping women encounter the heart of God

through the study of His Word. With more than twenty years of ministry experience, Stacy has taught in classrooms, led small groups, mentored, facilitated Bible studies, and spoken at women’s events and conferences. Her messages reflect her deep belief that God’s Word is powerful, personal, and meant to shape every part of our lives.

Stacy believes that the Bible is not merely a collection of ancient stories but the unfolding narrative of God’s love and redemption for His people. Her greatest desire is for women to grow in their understanding of who God is and how He speaks, so they can live with greater purpose and hope, rooted in truth.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Florida State University and spent nine years teaching high school English and Speech in a Christian school. She also served for seven years as Executive Director of a faith-based nonprofit, providing strategic leadership to serve her community. Stacy currently works as a Strategic Planner with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Since 2001, she has served alongside her husband in local church ministry in roles including youth, associate, executive, co-pastor, and now senior pastor. They live in Vicksburg, Mississippi with their six children. As an adoptive and foster mother, Stacy has welcomed more than twenty children into her home and life. Her personal and spiritual journey brings depth and authenticity to her teaching. Whether from a stage, classroom, or living room, Stacy’s heart is to help others know the Word of God, love it deeply, and let it shape their lives.
