What is Serve Sunday?

Serve Sunday is an opportunity for us to go outside the four walls of the church building and serve our community.

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

During the months of October and November, we will look at what the Bible teaches us about giving, serving and loving others.

Serve Sunday is our opportunity to live out what Jesus teaches us in scripture.

COMMUNITY PARTNER PROJECT | CHRISTMAS CLOSET

Help our current Community Partner Project by filling this year's CPC Christmas Closet! The Christmas Closet allows for families to attend educational classes then pick out Christmas presents for their children. Here's how you can help:

  • Collect toys and books for boys and girls, ages birth through 8 year olds that are new or gently used. No stuffed animals. Please keep toys priced under $25. (Don't forget the batteries!)
  • Collect gift bags and tissue paper to help the moms wrap these gifts.
  • Give monetarily to the Community Partner Project Fund. 1 toy = $20; 1 child = $100; 1 family (assuming 3 children) = $300.

Collection will take place between October 24th and November 14th @ Crossway Church. Monetary gifts can be placed below or you can bring your items to the marked tables around the Worship Center on Sunday mornings.

FAQ | SERVE SUNDAY

Can I register for multiple projects?

Yes! Our hope is that you find at least one project to plug into, but if there is more than one that you'd like to give towards, go for it!

What if I forget to register for a project?

Even if you do not register for a project, we still would love for you to attend Serve Sunday with us! That morning we will have several projects that you can just jump right into - so don't stay home. We'd love for you to be a part of this with us!

Will childcare be offered?

Yes! We will offer childcare beginning at 8:45 am for those attending Growth Tracks and will conclude at 1:00 pm for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 4 years old. When you register for a project, it will require you to answer if you'll need childcare.

If you will be placing your child in childcare through the project time and through lunch, we will be providing a lunchable-type meal for them. If your child needs to eat something else, please make sure to pack that for this day!

Will there be a service that morning?

Yes! Before you go out and work on your projects, we will meet together for worship. We are moving our service start time to 10:00 am this morning to allow for additional time to complete projects this day. You're not going to want to miss this service!

What if my Growth Track class meets during the 10:30 am hour?

We've made some adjustments to our schedule that morning so that ALL Growth Track classes will meet from 9:00 - 9:45 am for this Sunday only.  You won't miss a thing! Watch for an email as we get closer to find out the location of your class for that morning!

What should I wear?

At Crossway, we want you to feel comfortable! Depending on your project, you may have to wear more work clothes than you would normally when you come to church this Sunday - but that's ok!

In your project confirmation email or in the project description it will list if different clothing needs to be worn. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Can my kids participate in projects?

For most of them, yes! In the project description it will give you information that will help you make a decision on whether or not the project is suitable for children.

We realize there is childcare, but if you would like to grab your kids and take them to participate in the activities with you, we want to encourage that! What a great way to teach the next generation about putting others before ourselves!
